Gas Hot Water Rebates
In NSW there are two main sources of rebates available for purchases of a new Gas Hot Water System who currently have an electric hot water system. These include:
- The NSW State Government’s Homesaver Rebates (Ended 30 June 2011, application forms must be submitted by 30th September 2011), provide a rebate of between $300 dollars for a new Five (5) Star (or higher) Gas Hot Water system that is installed to replace an existing electric hot water system; and
- Various manufacturer’s rebates for installation of Gas Hot Water systems when they replace an existing electric hot water system.

Manufacturer Rebates
Various manufacturers offer rebates for installation of their Gas Hot Water systems from time to time. Please contact one of our friendly Sales Consultants to find out if there are any rebates or cashback offers that may be applicable to your situation.

State Government Rebate
The NSW Homesaver Rebates was established in July 2007, originally as the Climate Change Fund. This program includes a $100 million Residential Rebate Program providing rebates for energy efficient hot water systems.
In particular it provides for a rebate of $300 to switch from an electric to a five star (or higher) gas hot water system.
IMPORTANT: The NSW Solar Hot Water Rebate finished on the 30th June 2011. Customers who have had a system installed prior to this date have until the 30th September 2011 to get their application form to the government. To be eligible the new hot water systems must:
- replace an existing electric hot water system;
- be for residential properties in NSW only;
- be purchased in full and installed between October 1, 2007 and September 30, 2011; and
- be installed by a licensed plumber.
Hot water systems installed to comply with BASIX (the Building Sustainability Index) for new homes and major renovations are not eligible for a rebate.
